Freshwater course fish.

The Perch

the perchOne of the nicer freshwater coarse fish to find is the perch with its tiger like markings. With a light green body and its darker green stripes pointing downwards and a tall spikey top fin you have to agree it is a nice fish. You can find these fish all over europe in lakes, rivers, canals and reservoirs, so as you can tell they are a quite common fish. They mainly feed on insects and other small fish and even been known to eat there own young. The weight of a perch can get to a healthy 10-12 lb some have been known to be heavier. Again a good fighting fish and are well worth trying if not for the sport but just for there looks.
